 Summer 2013

The City of Little Rock, New Futures for Youth, the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, the State of Arkansas, and many other community partners are coordinating the 2013 Summer Youth Employment Program. "The goal this summer is to increase the employment opportunities for youth to 600 through additional resources made available by the City of Little Rock.  This number represents 60 percent growth in positive work experiences for young people since the summer of 2011," states Dr. Mark Perry, Executive Director of New Futures for Youth.

To participate in the 2013 Summer Youth Employment Program the participant must be 16 through 21 years old, be a resident of the City of Little Rock, and must have completed the online Summer Youth Intern Application at www.lrjobs.net. For more information regarding the Application click on the 2013 Summer Youth Intern link below.

Prior to starting their summer jobs, the participating youth will be given pre-employment training. Also each youth will be assigned a community liaison to create a successful summer for all involved. The Youth Summer Employment Program is one component of an overall vision to create a career development system for Little Rock's youth that will prepare them for the workforce.
